ILT Receives ATS Associate Membership

ILT Receives ATS Associate Membership

On June 14, 2022, the members of the Association of Theological Schools (ATS) accepted ILT’s Christ School of Theology as an Associate Member. Associate Membership is the first step to full accreditation with ATS. Over the next few years, the Christ School of Theology will be working toward full accreditation. This is just one more step that ILT is taking to ensure that students receive the best theological and pastoral education possible.

ATS is an Accreditation Association which accredits divinity schools and seminaries. Because ATS does not accredit undergraduate, non-theological, or non-ministry programs, it was necessary for ILT to establish the Christ School of Theology as its seminary.
The programs included in the Christ School of Theology are:
  • Master of Ministry
  • Master of Chaplaincy
  • Master of Arts
  • Master of Divinity
  • Doctor of Ministry
  • Doctor of Philosophy

ATS accreditation will help to strengthen these programs and assure students of the quality of the programs.

ILT will also continue accreditation with the Association for Biblical Higher Education (ABHE) as this accreditation agency grants accreditation over all ILT’s programs and degrees. The Christ School of Theology will work within the broader scope of all that ILT offers.

Please pray for us as we go through this process. There is much work to do and no guarantees. The faculty and staff of ILT and its Christ School of Theology are dedicated to providing seminary students with a rigorous, well-rounded education, preparing them for life in the parish and a life of service to God’s people.
