Celebrating the Ordination of Chere Riedel

ILT is proud to announce that on June 12, 2022, Sharon (Chere) Riedel, ILT alumni, was ordained at Dongola Lutheran Parish in Dongola, Illinois. Many of her fellow ILT alumni were in attendance to participate and celebrate this momentous occasion.

Congratulations Chere!

Chere joined the ILT student body in 2013 in our Certificate program. After 3 years, she felt called for more so in 2016, Chere enrolled in the Masters of Divinity (M.Div.) program. Like many ILT students, she was a non-traditional student, taking courses part-time while also serving at her local church and completing her internship.

Prior to online education options led by ILT, Seminary was very difficult to partake in for non-traditional students needing a flexible schedule. Thanks to the advancement of technology and the driving force of theologians seeking to call up more pastors, there are more pathways to ordination than ever before.

Please continue to pray for our students as they face challenges and seek to serve Christ and His church.

Once again, congratulations Chere on your ordination! God bless you as you move forward on your journey.
