Continual advancement and cutting-edge technology gives ILT students the opportunity to take their education to the next level.
WHAT WE’VE BEEN UP TO
We’re set up for success. The need for a school like ILT, our evolving programming and our large digital offerings set us apart from many traditional options. We are dedicated to the preaching of the gospel of Jesus Christ for the salvation of the world. Our use of resources is important and must serve the preaching of the gospel.
- ILT launched an undergraduate program including an AA degree and a BA degree.
- Online interest is growing, not only in the U.S., but internationally as well.
- ILT’s PhD program is highly sought after and enrollment has more than doubled in the two years it’s existed. It brings a new level of theological study to ILT, drawing an increasing amount of interest.
- Credit hours converted in the 2019-2020 academic year increased by 30.3% over previous year.
- The need for called pastors is growing and may hit critical mass soon. Many long-term pastors are reaching retirement age, but the number of new pastors graduating does not cover the amount needed to fill those positions. To combat this, at ILT our goal is to be as efficient as possible and create an affordable education, along with providing all of the resources needed to graduate high-performing students.
- As operations at ILT become more sustainable, we are able to cover current costs while keeping tuition economical. Because of this management, we are able to create more scholarships for our students and look at new programming opportunities.
- With our current accreditations, ILT students are now eligible for federally-insured student loans. This opens the door for many more people to apply.
- Having opened its doors in 2008, ILT has had an incredible success rate that now sets the standard for this institution to be named a worthy cause for donors looking to place their charitable contributions.
- Having prepared pastors, teachers and researchers to enter the job market, we have set our sites on adding humanities degrees in the near future.
- With online resources becoming increasingly important, our library of over 250,000 eBooks are available to our students, staff and alumni. We also house over 25,000 physical books onsite, including many historical archives.
GENERAL FUNDS
ANNUAL FUND
Like every other institution of higher education, the Institute of Lutheran Theology must support faculty and staff, maintain buildings and provide resources. We have kept operational expenses low, below $1,000,000.00 each year. As ILT grows, the student body requires more resources. When you donate to the Annual Fund, resources are made available to do the necessary work to provide the best education possible for ILT students.
FINANCIAL AID FUND
ILT offers tuition credits to students who have financial need. Many students are working to support their family while taking classes at ILT, which can put a tremendous financial strain on families. Some are interns and unable to put in the hours to meet their needs. If you donate to the Financial Aid Fund, ILT students who have financial need receive your support directly. Your gift also helps students graduate earlier by being able to take additional classes rather than waiting.
LIBRARY FUND
As a new theological and educational endeavor, ILT is continually in need of purchasing resources to support students in their studies. As new programs of study commence, new resources are needed to support them. We are taking steps to add a minimum of $100,000 worth of library resources. When you donate to the Library Fund, the books and online resources needed for our students to face the challenges of ministering and teaching in our secular age will be there for them.
ENDOWMENT FUND
ILT has established an Endowment Fund. The Endowment Fund includes monies for the support of International Partners, support for students in the Doctor of Ministry Program who have financial need, and support for LCMC students. We encourage donors to support one of these three projects or to create a project of their own. There are many options for donors to consider in terms of endowed funds for ILT. When a person donates to the Endowment Fund, the future of ILT becomes more secure.
CANADIAN GIVING
ILT-Canada Society (ILT-CS) is a non-profit organization in Canada. Canadian individuals and donors can send donations to ILT-CS and receive the regular tax benefit. ILT’s student body is about 15% Canadian and funds sent to ILT-CS are used to support the education of Canadian students.
